While visiting Monterey, I want to grab a quick lunch and this place comes up as first recommendation. This restaurant has great location with the ocean view and very opening space. The service was excellent! We are well taken care of. However, the food is average. I would only come back for the view

Mahi Mahi was super yummy and I really liked the sauce, pretty sweet tho! Clam chowder was lit, but hard to get that chowder consistency right. Honestly fish and chips were awesome, they were huge pieces and lots of them, my only critique is that I wish the breading was more seasoned. Beautiful restaurant views that's for sure! Also our server was super nice and attentive w the refills, it's a little expensive but good classic Monterey spot !

This review is only for the takeout stand in front. It's solid! I stop by whenever I'm in the area. I always get the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, which is served separately so if you need to travel a bit, the bread won't get all soggy. The chowder is thick and chunky. The fish and chips are solid too, where the breading on the fish is somehow light and airy if you eat it right away. This last time I got the shrimp and crab sandwich, which comes with fries. It was only okay, the roll was a little burned so maybe it got left toasting for a tad too long. A lot of people hunker down in front of the restaurant and dive into their food, or you can take the stairs down to the beach and eat it there.
